The recently passed ONC Cure’s Act and the CMS Interoperability and Patient Access final rule require healthcare organizations to make patients’ health information accessible via standard based APIs. Addressing this can result in high development costs with uncertain timelines, in-house application development with potentially delayed time to market, and significant time spent on re-developing common features.
HealthAPIx: Google Cloud’s Healthcare Interoperability Accelerator leverages the Apigee API Management Platform and Cloud Healthcare API to help healthcare organizations speed up the adoption of these new requirements with pre-built APIs - while reducing time to market, optimizing resources, and keeping costs low.
Oxford Economics worked with Google Cloud to survey 1,000 CIOs in seven sectors, including 167 CIOs in the healthcare industry, about how digital business ecosystems can support goals like efficiency, agility, innovation, and growth.
"HealthAPIx Accelerator will make it easier for our current and future partners -- such as payer/provider analytics solutions or consumer-facing mobile applications -- to consume Carebox data. The patient-centric data interoperability capabilities delivered by Google and Carebox demonstrate the transformative potential of consumer-centric APIs and FHIR."
